Cancer Season and the Summer Solstice
June 21, 2022
The Summer Solstice is here, marking the longest day of the year, the first official day of Summer and the start of Cancer Season as the Sun moves into the water sign of Cancer.
In Latin “sol” means the Sun, and “sistere” means to stand still. While many are lighting bonfires and celebrating the world over, the solstice is a time for us to pause, to stand still and go deep much like the water sign of Cancer, which rules lakes. Still, deep waters ripe for contemplation.
Connecting with nature and taking a moment to set your intensions for the coming season. Cancer rules the 4th house of our roots, home, family, but also beginnings and endings. What now might be beginning for you, or coming to an end that involves your home, family and/or your roots, the foundation of who you are? It might be as simple as spending more time with your loved ones, and tending to your home, or it might be a tectonic shift cutting straight the roots of your being.
Venus trines Pluto at this Solstice, along with the moon in conjunction to Jupiter – both favoring expansion and enjoyment with Venus’s aspect to Pluto signaling a time to make moves towards endeavors with big monetary returns, and this can come about through socializing or connecting with others. Venus/Pluto can also signal a time when we seek a transformation in our social setting, love, relationships and how we make time for these in our lives.
Don’t be afraid to think big and beautiful with this aspect.
However you are spending the Summer Solstice, may you do so with love, peace, joy and harmony.
Be well, love well, Jordan
