New Moon Check-in and Mercury Turns Direct

Eclipse season may be over, but that doesn’t mean that Monday’s New Moon in Gemini wasn’t related to May 15th’s Lunar Eclipse – it was. And it wasn’t an easy one for many. What made this New Moon a continuance of May’s Lunar Eclipse was Mercury at 26 degrees Taurus was trigging the degrees of the Eclipse, which occurred at 25 degrees Scorpio and Taurus – with Saturn squaring the Eclipse and squaring this New Moon.
The Sun and Moon in Gemini were in a bit of a weakened state, not making any aspects to other planets (unless you count a distant sextile to Mars) and therefore, Saturn reigned once more. Pluto in Capricorn, the sign ruled by Saturn, added to the fray with a square to dear Venus. Saturn squaring Mercury suggests that there might have been unwelcome news surrounding the situation brought on by May’s Lunar Eclipse. Pluto squaring Venus points to power struggles surrounding money, arts, pleasure and love. Or even obsession.
Mercury was retrograde adding shades of miscommunication, muddled thinking and off timing.
Fortunately, Mercury has turned retrograde today (YAY!!!) but give him 4 to 5 days to regulate his orbit, so hold off on purchasing electronics if you can, and double check your communication and that of others. Mercury will pick up his speed and slide back into Gemini by next Monday, the sign he rules, allowing us all to surge forward in our communication, thinking and relating well to others.
As I type this the moon is in the early degrees of Leo, just in time for the weekend, bringing an opportunity to harmonize with the Sun tomorrow – we all could use it!
While Saturn can be a heavy, challenging, if not downright depressing influence, he is there to help us set matters straight. Saturn’s ultimate goal is structure, though the road to that is not always pleasant. Saturn humbles us, cages us and asks for more. We must give him that while rising to duties, obligations and responsibilities. We MUST push through and NOT give up. For Saturn will take notice, and reward us with a foundation, structure, work ethic – the very thing success is built upon.
